After playing 37 WAFL games and kicking 41 goals for East Perth in 1985-6, as well as winning the club's 1986 fairest and best award, Craig Starcevich made the move east to the VFL, where he joined Collingwood. After a stuttering start to his career in the big time he came good and was an important con tributor to the Magpies' drought-breaking 1990 premiership win. Strong overhead and mobile, he was equally effective in key positions at both ends of the ground. His Collingwood stint ran from 1987 to 1993 and saw him play 124 V/AFL games and kick 162 goals. Crossing to Brisbane in 1994 he added a final 20 games and 16 goals for the Bears before retiring at the end of the 1995 season.

Craig Starcevich has remained involved in football, including most recently as coach of the Brisbane AFL Women's team.
