Dean Dawson was an outstanding all round sportsman who excelled at football, cricket and lacrosse. His football career comprised 80 games and 36 goals for Norwood between 1901 and 1906. A forward, much admired for his prodigious place kicking ability, he skippered the Redlegs in his final season and was a member of their 1901 and 1904 grand final-winning teams.
