Fitzroy’s Eddie Hart was a highly capable forward whose career was interrupted by war service and further cut short by injuries. His chief assets were pace when leading and sure hands when endeavouring to mark. He once kicked 17 goals in a reserves match, while his best tally in a League game was nine.

In 1941, 1944 and from 1946 to 1951 Hart played 98 VFL games and kicked 323 goals. He was club leading goal kicker every year between 1947 and 1951 with a best return of 65 in 1951. In both 1948 and 1949 he represented Victoria.
