Eric Dewar was a prominent Magpie during the first decade after World War I. Between 1919 and 1927 he played a total of 90 league games and was Port’s leading goal kicker with 24 goals in 1920. Capable of playing anywhere on the forward lines he was at full forward when the Magpies overcame arch rivals Norwood by eight points in the 1921 challenge final. Dewar represented the state three times, kicking eight goals.
