Fred Parkinson hailed from the South Bendigo Football Club and joined Essendon in 1907. He went on to play 52 VFL games and kick 27 goals for the Same Old over the course of four years. He then joined Collingwood in 1912 where he played five games and scored three goals. He died the very next year, aged just 29, after a railway accident.
