East Perth recruited George Michalczyk from Naramebeen and, over the course of 154 league games between 1974 to 1981, he developed into a first rate link man. He enjoyed premiership success with the Royals in 1978 when they overcame both opponents Perth and the elements in a hard, sloshing Grand Final. In 1982 he controversially crossed to West Perth but in a 58-game stint with the Falcons he was never able to recapture his best form more than fleetingly. George Michalczyk played one state game for Western Australia, against South Australia at Subiaco in 1979.
