Footscray’s George Tribe was perhaps better known as a cricketer, in which sport he played in three Tests, but he was also a handy footballer. He played mainly as a forward, and kicked the creditable total of 80 goals in his 66 league games between 1940 and 1946. His brother Tom also played for the Bulldogs.
