George White was an enormously capable centreman, half back flanker and back pocket who was a key player for South Fremantle in 183 games from 1928 to 1930 and 1932 to 1937, which was an unusually bleak era for the club. He skippered the side in his last couple of seasons. He spent the 1931 season with St Kilda for whom he played 13 VFL games and booted six goals. The Saints signed him after he had impressed playing for Western Australia at the 1930 Adelaide carnival. His four appearances at the carnival gave him a total of five games for the state.
