From Berrigan, Tim Hargreaves was a tough inside midfielder who arguably failed to exploit his full potential. He had a bright start to his AFL career with Hawthorn in 1994 when he kicked 10 goals over his first four games as well as racking up numerous possessions. However, he did not really go on with things, and after 42 games and 57 goals in four seasons he was traded to Geelong in direct exchange for Aaron Lord. He spent two seasons with the Cats, playing 20 games and scoring 12 goals, but overall did not have all that great an impact.
After departing the AFL scene Hargreaves continued to play for various clubs for more than a decade. Two particular highlights came during his time with Yarrawonga in the Ovens and Murray Football League: in 2002 he won the Morris Medal as competition best and fairest, and four years later he helped the side claim a flag.
