Tall, with long reach and boasting exceptional pace on the lead East Perth’s Jack Smith was a handful for most opposition full backs over the course of his 133 game, 389 game WANFL career between 1947 and 1957. He also played twice for Western Australia. He topped the Royalsd’ goal kicking list for four seasons in a row (1950 to 1953) with a best tally of 85 majors in 1951. Unfortunately for Smith, when East Perth re-emerged as a major force in 1956 his best days were behind him and he did not get play in a premiership team.
