Windsor's Jim Davies was a classy centreman of exemplary character, as well as a great leader on and off the field. He won the De Little Medal three times in the 1930s after also picking up the competition's reserves medal as a teenager. He and Doug Pittard remain Queensland’s only triple medalists, whether De Little or Grogan. Davies was Windsor's captain during the club's outstanding era that saw it win five flags in a row from 1936 to 1940. He represented Queensland between 1934 and 1939 and led the Maroons in 1938.
