Defender Jim Lihou was a reliably effective player for Glenelg in 152 senior SANFL games between 1976 and 1982, kicking 15 goals. He also represented South Australia on eight occasions. Originally from Padthaway of the Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Football League, he was one of the Bays’ best players in the 1981 grand final loss to Port Adelaide. He also played in the losing grand finals of 1977 against Port and 1982 against Norwood, but he never experienced the euphoria of playing in a premiership team.
