Justin Peckett was a useful footballer for St Kilda in 252 AFL games between 1992 and 2006. He was actually de-listed by the Saints before he had played a game, and he contemplated taking up an offer to join East Fremantle. However, St Kilda then re-drafted him, and he went on to enjoy a noteworthy career. Used mainly as a hard running defender early in his career he later developed into a big impact player when deployed off the bench. He ran second in the club’s 1994 best and fairest count while in 1997 he was a key player in the team which ultimately reached the grand final, coming third in the best and fairest in the process. Peckett was a member of St Kilda’s 1998 AFL Ansett Australia Cup-winning team.
