Kevin Coverdale was a talented and canny centre half forward, albeit that he could be inconsistent. His 50 game stint with Hawthorn from 1963 to 1965 included a fine performance in the 1963 grand final loss to Geelong, when he also kicked one of his 33 career goals. After leaving the VFL scene behind he played for, and captained, his original team, Bairnsdale.
