Woodville recruited Kevin Harris from the East Gambier Football Club and it quickly became obvious that he was a ready made league footballer. A tenacious on-baller and half forward flanker, he relished the game’s physical elements, and his “head-down-bum-up approach skittled opponents repeatedly ....” When the Warriors embarked on a halcyon phase in their history in 1986-7 Harris was a prime mover in the side’s success. His career at Woodville ran from 1984 to 1989 and saw him play 147 SANFL games and score 235 goals. He won back to back club champion awards in 1984-5 and represented his state once.
