Originally from Ascot Vale CYMS, Len Johnson gave Essendon fine service as a forward, kicking 85 goals in 64 games including 40 in 1929 when he was the club's joint top goal kicker with Keith Forbes. After playing with the Dons between 1929 and 1933, Johnson crossed to North Melbourne midway through the 1933 season and added a final five games and three goals to his tallies. Johnson died in World War II.
