Mark Lisle joined North Melbourne from Upper Ferntree Gully but he struggled to establish himself, managing just 37 senior VFL appearances and 14 goals from 1984 to 1989. He fared rather better at Box Hill, for whom he played 51 VFA games and scored 43 goals between 1990 and 1994. Voted club champion in 1990, he skippered the Mustangs from 1991 to 1993, and was later included in their official ‘Team of the Century’.
