He may not have been a household name but Malcolm Hewitson was a serviceable player who experienced the thrill of playing on a wing in Port Adelaide’s 10.12 to 8.13 grand final defeat of North Adelaide in the 1951 SANFL grand final. His career with the Magpies comprised 72 games in which he kicked nine goals from 1948 to 1951 and in 1955-6.
