After lining up at full back in Norwood’s 1975 and 1976 reserves premiership teams Paul Adler was converted into a full forward when he commenced his senior career. In 1977 he booted 78 goals to be the Redlegs’ top goal kicker for the year. He was a member of the club’s 1978 and 1982 grand final-winning teams, starting on the bench in both games. During the second half of his career he returned to the backlines where he showed plenty of assurance and dependability. Between 1976 and 1983 he played 148 SANFL games and kicked 173 goals.
