Of hefty build and powerful, Peter Brown was a useful player for South Melbourne from 1971 to 1976, during which time he played 77 VFL games and scored nine goals. He was mostly used as a centre half back. He had a comparatively slow start to his league career but by his second season he had nailed down a regular spot in the Swans team.
