Having played briefly for Ulverstone in the NWFU Peter Hamilton was recruited by Melbourne, where he spent eight years (1976-83) on the senior list, while playing just 52 games and kicking one goal. A solid ruckman/defender, he represented Tasmania at the 1979 Perth state of origin carnival. After leaving the Demons he joined VFA second division team Prahran whom he helped to a premiership at that level in 1987. In all, he played 20 games and scored 25 goals for the Two Blues between 1987 and 1989.
