Peter McIntyre was a strong key position forward whose father, Barry McIntyre, played in the VFL with St Kilda. Peter McIntyre had a brief AFL career with Adelaide (14 games, 19 goals in 1991-2) but spent most of his career with South Adelaide. He was the Panthers’ leading goal kicker in 1993 with 76 goals. The highlight of his time with the Crows was kicking four goals in the fledgling club’s first ever AFL match against Hawthorn. Adelaide won the game with consummate ease but thereafter Peter McIntyre found it difficult to establish himself. He carried on with South until 1996, by which time he had played 133 SANFL games and registered 252 goals.
