Ray Sterrett was a talented key forward who was strong overhead and excelled at feeding the ball to smaller team mates running by, either by taps or with clever use of handball. After shining in the Teal Cup for Western Australia he was recruited by East Fremantle where he played 62 WAFL games and scored 70 goals in 1983-4 and 1987-8. He crossed to Geelong in 1989 and made 20 senior appearances and kicked seven goals over three seasons.
