Arthur Reginald Baker - known as ‘Reg’ - was one of three brothers to play league football, along with Selwyn and Ted. Reg Baker was a talented rover and forward who played 60 VFL games and scored 60 goals for Collingwood between 1922 and 1928. He was a member of the Magpies’ losing grand final teams of 1925 against Geelong and 1926 against Fitzroy. He enjoyed a particularly impressive 1926 campaign which saw him finish fifth in voting for the Brownlow Medal.

Part of the way through the 1928 season he crossed to Richmond where he added a final 10 games and seven goals. He then returned to his original club Wonthaggi as captain-coach where he oversaw three premierships in five years.
