Scott Salisbury gave fine service to Glenelg between 1983 and 1992, playing 241 senior games. He was also an extremely effective performer in the interstate arena, particularly in matches against the Victorians, upon whose players he visibly exulted in inflicting bumps and tackles of the most ferocious, though only very seldom illicit, kind. This was most apparent in 1987 and 1988 when South Australia won consecutive national titles, with Salisbury earning All Australian selection in the former year.

Highlights of his career with the Bays included participation in the winning Grand Finals of 1985 and 1986, both against North Adelaide, and skippering the club in his final two seasons.

Salisbury’s abilities and demeanour made him best suited to defensive roles, but he was a more than capable on-baller as well, as he exhibited most tellingly during the closing seasons of his career.
