Stan Wilson commenced his senior football career with East Brunswick in 1930 before crossing to Northcote in the VFA in 1933, a season crowned by a winning grand final against Coburg. After spending the 1935 season back at East Brunswick he embarked on a six season, 75 game, seven goal VFL stint with Essendon. Much of his football was played on a half back flank where his blond hair coupled with his effervescent style of play made him a conspicuous presence. In his last season with the Dons he was a member of the club’s seconds premiership-winning combination. After the war he rounded off his career with a couple of seasons back at East Brunswick.
