Stephen White is one of only 10 Sturt players to score 300 goals in his career. A ruckman during his early years, he was tried at centre half forward in the Blues reserves in 1994 and the move proved eminently effective. He made his senior league debut as a centre half forward late in the 1994 season and held down a key forward position for the remainder of his 164 game career, which ended in 2004. Strongly built, he marked well and was a good kick, with his career tally of 316 goals including club list-topping tallies of 33 in 1997, 42 in 2000, and a personal best tally of 56 in 2001. In the 2002 grand final defeat of Central District he was the Double Blues’ top scorer with three goals.
