Stevan Jackson was a capable key forward who applied his not inconsiderable weight and strength most effectively. He commenced his league football career in 1988 with South Fremantle, and was taken as a pre-draft selection by West Coast later that year. In both 1989 and 1990 he produced some fine football for the Eagles over the course of 31 VFL games in which he registered 58 goals. After that, however, he struggled for form, and managed just seven appearances in 1991, as a result of which he was traded to Richmond.
Jackson spent three seasons with the Tigers but, thanks largely to injury, only managed to play 21 AFL games and kick 30 goals. The 1995 season found him back at South Fremantle where he took his final tally of games played with the club to 41 and the number of goals kicked to 96. Back in 1989 he had represented Western Australia in a home loss to Victoria.
