Tim Cook played senior grade football for North Clare as a fifteen year old and was recruited by Central District. He commenced in the Bulldogs’ seniors in 1991 and went on to play 117 SANFL games and kick 138 goals for them over the ensuing decade. In 1995 and 1996 he was a member of Centrals’ first two grand final teams but the side lowered its colours to Port Adelaide on both occasions.
A skilful half forward or forward pocket in the main, Cook could also play as a rover. In 1997-8 he was on the Adelaide Crows’ list but played just eight games, and spent the majority of his time back at the Bulldogs.
When he failed to gain selection for Centrals’ 2000 grand final clash with the Eagles he sought and obtained a clearance to North Adelaide. Between 2001 and 2005 he played 89 games and booted 31 goals for the Roosters with his time with the club highlighted by a best and fairest win in his first season.
