Highly dependable, and a prolific kick winner (he eschewed handball), Trevor Reu was on a half back flank, and one of the best players on view, when West Adelaide defeated Norwood by six goals in the 1961 SANFL grand final. His career at the top was fairly fleeting, comprising 90 games and 23 goals between 1959 and 1963. In addition to the 1961 flag decider Reu played in the losing affair the following year against Port Adelaide when he was again listed high among West’s best players.
