Marion

Marion Football Club can boast a long and eventful history which, as of 2018, had produced a total of nine senior grade premierships in various leagues and associations. The period from 1987 to 2017 saw the Rams as they became known during the 1970s compete in the strong Southern Football League where they frequently featured among the competition front-runners. During the 1990s the seniors suffered the misfortune of reaching the grand final on five occasions, only to lose narrowly each time. They finally made amends in 2000 when, for good measure, the reserves also went top. Following that, the Rams fell on somewhat harder times, and in 2016 the seniors finished bottom of the ladder without a win, a result which was precisely duplicated a year later.

In 2018 the club took the bold step of crossing to the Adelaide Footy League. Competing in Division Seven they enjoyed an excellent debut season culminating in a 13.9 (87) to 9.12 (66) grand final defeat of another former Southern Football League club in the shape of O'Sullivan Beach Lonsdale.
