Broughton Mundoora

With eight senior grade flags in the last three decades the Eagles have vied with Orroroo as the NAFA’s most successful club. Prior to the merger, both Broughton and Mundoora Wokurna had been stalwart members of the Broughton Football Association, which folded in 1979, following which they affiliated briefly with the Adelaide Plains Football League.

Broughton Mundoora’s eighth senior grade flag was claimed in 2016 thanks to a gutsy, come from behind grand final defeat of Crystal Brook. The Roosters led narrowly at every change but it was the Eagles who finished the stronger, adding 4 last quarter goals to 2 to snatch victory by the smallest possible margin, 9.10 (64) to 9.9 (63). A year later the same two teams contested the grand final, but on this occasion it was Crystal Brook who held sway with scores of 15.9 (99) to 8.9 (57). In 2018 Orroroo ended the Eagles' premiership bid at the preliminary final stage. The next couple of seasons saw the Roosters earn back to back premiership honours giving them an overall tally of 10 senior grade flags.
