Djarrak

In 2015 Djarrack undertook a bold initiative in forging a liaison with Northern Territory Football League club Darwin. The arrangement includes the swapping back and forth of players as well as focusing on ways to promote good citizenship as well as improved football skills. Djarrack has a commendable record in the Gove AFL having claimed seven premierships in just over four decades. The most recent of these flags was obtained in 2017 thanks to a stirring 11.6 (72) to 9.12 (66) grand final defeat of Gopu. The Hawks led all day until a late surge from Gopu saw them get their noses in front with just minutes left to play. However, Djarrack then steadied and went on to squeeze home by a single straight kick. A year later Djarrack performed modestly and eventually finished third on the four team premiership ladder.
