ECU Jets commenced in the WAAFL in 2016. Competing in E1 Grade they finished bottom of the ladder after losing all 18 of their matches for the season. A year later they competed in E3 grade, winning seven of their 16 matches to finish sixth of nine clubs. The following season proved to be their best to date as they qualified for the finals and were ultimately placed third. The 2019 season saw them in E2 Grade where they enjoyed a fine campaign, ultimately getting as far as a grand final clash with Forrestfield. After being distinctly second best during the first half the Jets fought back strongly and might be considered somewhat unfortunate to have fallen short by eight points.
