Flinders University Women's team  took its bows in Division Two of the South Australian Women's Football League in 2016, performing creditably to win 8 out of 18 fixtures and finish in sixth place on the ten team premiership ladder. With the league continuously expanding the 2017 season saw the Double Blues lining up in the newly formed Division Three competition in which they did well to top the ladder ahead of the finals. Unfortunately, they proved unable to go on with things and, although they managed to reach the grand final, opponents Gaza proved too strong. A year later they found the going tougher and ultimately finished fifth, thus missing out on finals participation altogether.
