Since commencing in the Woomera and Districts Football League (nowadays known as the Far North Football League) in 1997 the Magpies have enjoyed premiership success on three occasions. They downed Roxby Districts by 11 points in the 2001 grand final. The following year saw them account for Andamooka by the same margin. Their most recent premiership triumph came in 2012 when they overcame Roxby Districts in the decisive match of the year by 23 points, 11.11 (77) to 8.6 (54). Following their 2012 flag the Magpies qualified for the next three grand finals, but lost heavily to Roxby Districts every time. Another grand final appearance followed in 2017 but once again Roxby Districts proved much too strong. Finally, in 2018 the Magpies broke through for their fourth senior grade premiership courtesy of a 12.9 (81) to 6.4 (40) grand final defeat of Roxby Districts.
