The Saints hit the ground running in their debut season of 2017 when they claimed the inaugural Tamworth Football League women's flag. Opposed in the grand final by Tamworth Kangaroos they trailed at the first change by a solitary point before proceeding to dominate all over the ground and add 7 straight goals to 1.7 over the remainder of the match, thereby winning with considerable comfort by 28 points, 8.0 (48) to 2.8 (20). Team coach Dick Gleeson was full of praise for his charges. "They were challenged again and again but they stood firm and held their structure. They did the team things and worked really hard. The glory (of the premiership win) is theirs forever," Gleeson said.

A year later, now playing under the umbrella of AFL North West, the Saints once again qualified for a grand final clash with Tamworth Kangaroos, but on this occasion the result was reversed with the 'Roos getting home by 14 points.
