Kilcunda Bass

In 1955, both Bass and Kilcunda were founder members of the Bass Valley-Wonthaggi and District Football League. After two unsuccessful seasons, the clubs merged, with the new club immediately claiming a premiership. This success was repeated three years later, but there then followed a prolonged premiership drought.

Between 1996 and 2001 the Panthers competed in the West Gippsland Football League, and then in the West Gippsland-Latrobe Football League until 2004. In 2005 they entered the Alberton Football League where they were consistently competitive although it was not until the 2011 season that they took a legitimate tilt at premiership honours. After topping the premiership ladder with a 16-2 record the Panthers went on to secure the premiership on the strength of a pair of close, hard fought wins over Foster by margins of 8 points (second semi) and 24 points (grand final).

In 2012 the Panthers went back to back after accounting for Dalyston in the grand final by 19 points, 12.17 (89) to 11.4 (70). They then made it three in a row the following season thanks to an 18.10 (118) to 12.10 (82) grand final defeat of Korumburra-Bena.

The 2014 season brought a minor premiership followed by a straight sets exit from the finals, and after missing the finals in 2015 Kilcunda Bass bowed out of the flag race the next year with an elimination final loss to Inverloch-Kongwak.

In 2017 the Panthers lined up in a new competition, the West Gippsland Football League, in which they performed modestly on debut, winning 9 out of 18 matches which saw them placed seventh of ten teams. The following year brought a dip in fortunes as they only managed a couple of wins to slip to ninth place.
