SMW Rovers

Prior to their merger in 1954 Streatham and Mininera Westmere Rovers had both enjoyed considerable success in the Mininera District Football Association with Streatham claiming half a dozen premierships and Mininera Westmere Rovers five. The new club took a few seasons to establish itself but when it finally broke through for a flag in 1960 it was a prelude to a decade of considerable success, spawning further premierships in 1963, 1964, 1967 and 1968. Since the 1960s the Bulldogs have found the going somewhat tougher and the seniors have only added another three flags.

In recent seasons SMW Rovers have tended to finish mid-ladder although they did enjoy a promising 2011 season which saw them qualify for the finals in second place only to suffer the disappointment of a straight sets exit at the hands of Moston Willaura and Wickliffe Lake Bolac. They came close to another finals appearance in 2017 but their tally of 10 wins out of 17 matches left them 4 points plus percentage adrift of fifth placed Tatyoon. In 2018 they dropped one place on the ladder to seventh.
