The second Adelaide Oval Double Header was met with limited enthusiasm by SA footyheads, both games pitting a top four side against a cellar-dweller side. First off was the match between the Bloods and the Redlegs.
Inaccurate shooting by the Redlegs kept the first quarter from becoming a disaster for the lowly Westies, but Norwood still took a 39 point lead into the first change. One stunning stat for the first half was Norwood's possessions count -- 57 more possessions than the Bloods. The Redlegs then blasted away from the Bloods in a more accurate second term, kicking a further 7.2 to 2.6. After the long break, the Bloods were able to decrease the gap somewhat, down to 30 points in the third term, but there wasn't going to be a Redleg fadeout this time. In the final quarter the Redlegs booted 6.3 to West's 4.3 to win by 48 points.
An angry West coach labelled most of his players "not up to SANFL standard" post match, the real shining light being Ben Haynes who was again named best for the Bloods. Nick Jackman was best on ground for Norwood.
