In 1915 and between 1919 and 1924 Harry Moyes played 61 VFL games for St Kilda and scored 128 goals. A canny and quite prolific forward, he topped the Saints’ goal kicking list on four occasions. The 1925 season found him at Melbourne where he continued to perform well. When the Fuchsias downed Collingwood in the 1926 challenge final Moyes was a key contributor to the triumph, kicking three goals from a forward pocket, and being listed high among the victors’ best players in most sources. When he left Melbourne at the end of the 1927 season he had added 45 games and 106 goals to his respective career tallies. His tally of 55 goals in 1926 saw him head Melbourne’s list for the year.
