Rover and forward pocket Albert 'Mick' Price gave sterling service to Carlton between 1936 and 1946, playing102 VFL games and kicking 163 goals. Among his appearances were the 1938 and 1945 grand finals in which the Blues respectively defeated Collingwood and South Melbourne. In the former match he in effect played as a tagger, on Magpie rover Alby Pannam, while in the latter he played well and kicked 3 goals as first rover.

After retiring as a player Mick Price spent time as coach of Carlton's reserves, overseeing premiership triumphs in 1951 and 1953.
