Recruited by Richmond from Richmond Districts in 1939 Brian Randall was a follower and tall forward who spent a lot of time in the reserves, but also managed to play in three senior grand finals. In 1943 he helped the Tigers down Essendon in the flag decider by five points, and he also played in the losing grand finals of 1942 against Essendon and 1944 against Fitzroy. His senior VFL career spanned the years 1941 to 1945, during which he played 54 games and scored 36 goals. He later captain-coached Echuca to consecutive premierships in 1948-9.
