Recruited from Walhalla, rover Jimmy Davidson made his senior Melbourne debut in 1924 and was a key member two years later of the club’s challenge final-winning team against Collingwood. He was a consistently good performer throughout his nine-season, 137 game, 62 goal VFL career. Diminutive in stature at 165cm and 62kg he lacked nothing in either courage or persistence.
