James ‘Jack’ Prideaux was an extremely effective forward whose season’s tally of 95 goals in 1935 was, at the time, a Port Adelaide record. Between 1933 and 1936 Prideaux played 63 SANFL games and scored 276 goals. He was his club’s top goal kicker every year except his first, and he rounded off his career in the best way imaginable by contributing 4.6 from full forward to Port’s thrilling 13.19 to 14.10 grand final defeat of Sturt.
