Matthew Dundas played 73 AFL games and booted 61 goals for Fitzroy between 1990 and 1993. Courageous and energetic, he was mostly used as a rover. He polled nine votes in the 1992 Brownlow count, a total only bettered among Lions players by Paul Roos. He finished his League career at Richmond where he played 12 games and kicked seven goals in 1994-5. He finished fourth in the Gardiner Medal for best and fairest in the reserves competition in 1994.
