AFL Tasmania Hall of Fame inductee Steven Beaumont was a prolific forward for both Cooee in the NWFU and VFL giant Essendon over the course of a playing career spanning the years 1971 to 1984. He was a member of Cooee’s 1973, 1978 and 1982 premiership-winning combinations and headed the NWFU’s goal kicking list three times, with a highest tally of 143 goals in his final season. During his time in the VFL with the Bombers he did nothing to sully his reputation in 37 games from 1974 to 1976, in which he booted 46 goals.
