Forward pocket in Geelong’s breakthrough 1925 grand final triumph over Collingwood, to which he contributed a goal, Syd Hall played 85 VFL games and kick 18 goals for the Cats from 1922 to 1927 and in 1930. More commonly used as a wingman, in which position he could best exploit his pace, prodigious kicking ability and smooth ball handling skills, Hall represented Victoria three times.
