Lyndale is one of only three clubs to have won a Southern Football League Division Five premiership. It did this in 1995, which was the last of the competition’s three seasons, after downing Boronia Park in the grand final by 37 points, 13.17 (95) to 8.10 (58).
The SFL’s Division Four competition was almost as short-lived as Division Five, existing for just half a dozen seasons. The Pumas won the penultimate premiership in this competition in 1997 when they accounted for the grand final challenge of Carrum Downs by 19 points.
Lyndale’s most recent senior grade premiership came in Division Three of the SFL in 2000. It was achieved by means of a 14.14 (98) to 8.10 (58) grand final defeat of Tooronga Malvern. The following season saw the Pumas contesting a Division Two grand final, but they lost heavily to Ashwood.
Recent seasons have generally been rather less noteworthy with the Pumas competing in Division Three and generally finishing well off the pace. In 2014, however, they exceeded all expectations by fighting their way through to the grand final, only to lose by 28 points to Mount Waverley. Subsequent seasons brought ninth (2015) and seventh (both 2016 and 2017) place finishes on what was a twelve team premiership ladder. The 2018 season saw the Pumas taking their bows in the SFL's new Division Four competition. They managed 6 wins from 15 matches to finish fifth of eight teams.
