Rudall did not enjoy an easy time of it of late, and never managed to claim a premiership in the Eastern Eyre Football League, of which it was a founder member in 1989. Originally known as Western Rovers, the club was established in 1914, and won a premiership in its debut season, overcoming Cleve in the grand final, as was the case again in 1920. The 1924 and 1925 seasons brought back to back flags, with Cleve once again providing the grand final opposition on both occasions. The 1927 season brought a change of name to Rudall, with the club’s first premiership under the new name arriving in 1936 thanks to a 9.6 (60) to 7.5 (47) grand final defeat of Kilroo.

The club was a force during the 1950s during which it played off for the flag three times, winning in 1956 against Cleve and 1957 at the expense of Darke Peak. By contrast, the 1960s proved to be a dismal decade, with the club struggling both on and off the field. In 1964 a merger was entered into with the United Football Club. This arrangement lasted three seasons and Rudall emerged from it in a much healthier position as was evidenced by its achievements during the 1970s. Five times a grand finalist, victory was achieved against Darke Peak in 1972, Arno Bay the following year, and Darke Peak again in 1977.

During its time in the Eastern Eyre Football League Rudall only once made it as far as the grand final. That was in 2001, when Cleve proved narrowly superior to the tune of 10 points, 14.7 (91) to 12.9 (81).

In 2012 Rudall merged with erstwhile EEFL rivals Cleve with the new club going under the name of Eastern Ranges.
